Race Details

We hope you'll join us for this fun-filled road race in East Cobb! The 5K is a USATF certified course and an official Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race qualifier. The fun run is an exciting kids obstacle course located on the Eastside Christian School fields.

The starting line and finish line for the 5K are in the Eastside Christian School Student Center parking lot. The kids’ Fun Run will be held at the Eastside fields onsite.

Directions

From Atlanta: Take I-75 North. Exit at S Marietta Parkway (Exit 263). Turn right off the exit. Turn right at Lower Roswell Road. The school is on the right, at the intersection of Lower Roswell Road and Little Road. Continue past Little Road and follow signs for parking.

1 Must register before March 1, 2024 to participate as a timed runner.
2 T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrants who register on or after February 24, 2024. Registrants who registered on or after February 24, 2024 can pick-up their t-shirts 9AM to 10AM on race day. Race day packets with bib will still be available at regular packet pick-ups.

No Refunds or Transfers
There are no registration refunds or transfers for any reason for the 5K or Fun Run.
 
Inclement Weather Policy
The 5K and Fun Run will occur rain or shine. However, race officials may, in their sole discretion, cancel, delay, or change the event in the case of extreme conditions that may affect the safety and health of participants. In case of delay or cancellation, immediate notification will be made through East Cobb Classic 5K Facebook page. In addition, all participants will be notified via email. Should either the 5K or Fun Run be cancelled due to extreme weather or other conditions beyond the race organizers' control, there will be no registration refunds or transfers.

5K Start Time

8:30AM (Course closes at 10:00 am)
*All timed runners will be allowed to start before untimed runners/walkers.

Post-race refreshments are provided for all 5K runners.

Fun Run Start Time

9:30 am Ages 10 & up
9:40 am Ages 9 & 10
9:50 am Ages 7 & 8
10:00 am Ages 5 & 6
10:10 am Ages 4 & under

Fun Run participants will race through over 1/4 mile of fun-filled obstacles! All Fun Run participants will receive a t-shirt and a finishers medal.

*No strollers, bicycles, roller blades, or pets allowed on the fun run course. Parents must supervise their children during the Fun Run.

Thursday, March 7, 2024 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Big Peach Running Co. on Johnson Ferry Rd. 

Friday, March 8, 2024 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Eastside Christian School Student Center Entrance

Saturday, March 9, 2024 beginning at 7:00 am at Eastside Christian School, Student Center Parking Lot

*You may pick up race packets for other runners if you have a picture of the ID of the registered runner.

Race Day Fun

We hope that the East Cobb Classic is a fun morning for the whole family! Chick-fil-A East Lake will be selling breakfast items,  Martha's Outpost will be selling coffee, and some of our sponsors will have tents for you to visit.

Safety

You should not participate in either event if you are sick. Be aware of the weather and take appropriate precautions to hydrate, dress appropriately, and stay alert.

Dogs and strollers are allowed on the course, however they will start behind all runners without pets and strollers. Please be prepared to pick up after your dog, if needed.

There will be one water station on the 5K course between mile one and two. In addition, there will be water available for participants at the end of the race. Water will also be provided for participants at the end of the Fun Run.  

Results & Awards

Timing and results will be posted here within 24 hours of the conclusion of the race.

Awards ceremony will be held directly after the race.

Overall and Age Group awards will be given to 5K timed participants only, in the following categories:

  • Top 3 Overall Male and Female
  • Top 3 Male and Female finishers in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Awards not claimed at the event will be available for pick-up on specified date(s) the following week.
